Perry Farrell (born March 29, 1959 in New York City ; actually Peretz Bernstein ) is an American rock musician . His stage name is a play on words with “peripheral”, which should mean something like “the outside observer”.

He is best known as the singer of the alternative rock bands Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros . His first band was called Psi Com. Since the end of Porno for Pyros, Farrell has also released some solo albums in which he increasingly deals with his Jewish faith. He also works as a DJ Peretz. He is also known as the founder and organizer of the Lollapalooza festivals , where many alternative rock bands performed in the 1990s.

After Jane's Addiction broke up again in 2004, he formed a new band called Perry Farrell's Satellite Party. On the soundtrack to the film Twilight - Bis (s) zum Dawn from 2009, Farrell was involved with the song Go All the Way (Into the Twilight) .
