Perzonal War is a German power and thrash metal band from Troisdorf , which was founded in 1996 under the name Personal War .
history
The band was founded in 1996 under the name Personal War by singer and guitarist Matthias Zimmer and drummer Martin Buchwalter. Together they recorded a first demo. A short time later, Martin's brother Frank (bass) and guitarist Sascha Kerschgens joined the band. After a second demo was recorded, the band appeared on the sampler Unheard of Rock Hard . As a result, the group reached a contract with Gernhart Records in 1997 . They then recorded their debut album and released it in early 1998 under the name The Inside .
Over the next two years the band changed labels and signed a contract with B. Mind Records and released Newtimechaos in May 2000 . In July 2002, the band, now under the name Perzonal War, recorded their next album for AFM Records , which was called Different But the Same . The album also featured a few solos by Rage guitarist Victor Smolski . This was followed by appearances as the opening act for Rage and Nevermore . At the beginning of 2003 bassist Frank Buchwalter left the group. In June of the same year, the band went back to the studio for the album Faces , with Sven Krautkrämer now taking up the post of bassist. After the release followed a tour with Blaze and Circle II Circle . A few acoustic shows followed in autumn . They then played appearances with Metal Church , Overkill and Symphorce .
In mid-November 2005 the next album, When Times Turn Red, was released. After the release followed a tour through Europe with Destruction , Candlemass and Deathchain . In mid-October 2006 the band played a concert in Bonn together with Delirious , among others, to celebrate their tenth anniversary. This should also be the last gig with bassist Sven Krautkrämer, who left the band at the end of the year. In April 2008 guitarist Sascha Kerschgens also got out of the band, but at this point the album Bloodline had already been recorded. As guest musicians, Marcel “Lubricant” Schirmer from Destruction and Gus Chambers (Ex- Grip Inc. , Squealer AD ) could be heard. The post of bassist had been occupied by Björn Kluth ( News at Six ) since the end of 2007 . Shortly before the release, guitarist Daniel Düring joined the band, but he could no longer be heard on Bloodline .
style
The band plays classic thrash metal, which is often compared to the music of Metallica . The singing varies from rough to clear singing.
