Marcel "Lubricant" Schirmer (born December 22, 1966 ) is a German singer, bass player and music producer .

Career

Schirmer comes from Efringen-Kirchen in the Lörrach district and was one of the founding members of the band Destruction in 1982 . At first he was only a bass player and later also took over the vocals. After three studio albums he left the band in a dispute and founded the band Headhunter with drummer Jörg Michael . This band released three studio albums before disbanding in 1997 and reforming in 2008. In 1999 Schirmer returned to Destruction and released further studio albums with the band.

In 2008 Schirmer released the album Hellbassbeaters with the Bassinvaders project . This is a project by Helloween bassist Markus Grosskopf , in which Peter “Peavy” Wagner from the band Rage and Tom Angelripper from the band Sodom were also involved. In 2014, Schirmer founded the band Panzer together with the former Accept members Herman Frank and Stefan Schwarzmann , which initially renamed itself to The German Panzer and finally to Pänzer . After two studio albums, Schirmer left the band in June 2018.

Schirmer also appeared as a guest musician with bands and artists such as Axxis , Debauchery , Doro Pesch , Fear My Thoughts , Gurd and Holy Moses . Since returning to Destruction, Schirmer has been working as a music producer. Together with VO Pulver he produces the Burning Witches albums . Schirmer also owned the Barracuda pizzeria in Istein . Marcel Schirmer is a trained baker and pastry chef .
