Peter Czernin (film producer)

Peter "Pete" Czernin (* 1966 ) is a British film producer .

Life

Peter Czernin belongs to the noble family Czernin von und zu Chudenitz and was born as the son of Hazel, Baroness de Walden, which makes him a member of the Howard de Walden family . Czernin had attended Eton College , where he shared a room with David Cameron . The first film produced by Czernin was Piccadilly Jim by John McKay in 2005. In 2008 he produced the film See Bruges ... and die? by Martin McDonagh , for whom Czernin was nominated for the Alexander Korda Award at the British Academy Film Awards 2009 . The productions followedBest Exotic Marigold Hotel by John Madden in 2011, for which hewas again nominated for the Alexander Korda Awardat the British Academy Film Awards , and in the following year 7 Psychos , in which he worked again with Martin McDonagh and for whom he was there in was nominated in the same category. In 2014 Czernin produced The Riot Club and in 2015 also Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2 .

In 2017 Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri premiered at the Venice Film Festival , where the film was screened in the main competition and was awarded the Golden Lion . This film was directed by McDonagh again.

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
