Peter-Andreas Mothes

Peter-Andreas Mothes (born August 5, 1935 in Wiesbaden ; † June 25, 2008 in Kassel ) was a German painter and art teacher at a Waldorf school .

Life

Peter-Andreas Mothes was a great-grandson of the architect and art historian Oskar Mothes . In 1956 he graduated from high school with the desire to study architecture at the time. From 1956 to 1957 he attended the seminar for curative education in Eckwälden and graduated with a diploma. From 1957 to 1958 he was a student in painting and sculpture with Hermann Kirchner in Hepsisau. From 1958 to 1960 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (master class). He also studied philosophy , education and psychology . From 1960 to 1963 he studied at the Karlsruhe Art Academy (master class).

From 1967 until his retirement in 2000 he was an art teacher at the Free Waldorf School in Engelberg.

Exhibitions and works

  • 1963–1967: Freelance work as a graphic artist, book illustrator and painter
  • 1967: First exhibition in Stuttgart, including an encounter with the architect Rex Raab
  • Contract for the artistic design of the "Free Waldorf School Engelberg"

This was followed by numerous orders in the field of “Art in Schools” in Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Holland, Canada and the USA.

  • from 1968: Numerous exhibitions of his graphics, watercolors, pictures at home and abroad
  • from 1970: artistic design of churches and altar designs
  • 1978–1982: Comprehensive order from a French insurance group to design its entire new administrative building artistically, Strasbourg, overall concept for: building architecture, interior design, painting and graphics
  • 1983: Artistic color and design for a computer company, Strasbourg

Subsequent to this: Development of several companies (including Télémécanique Paris, NPI Institute Amsterdam / Zeist), schools, kindergartens and various medical practices in Germany, France and the Netherlands

  • 1985: Awarded the silver medal “Médaille d´Argent” for painting, France
  • from 1990: Artistic design in the Wilken company (computer company), Ulm
  • 1993: Order for the artistic design of the technical town hall, Heilbronn
  • 1995: Color design of a railway underpass (concrete design), Winterbach
  • 1996: Design of the new building for the German Football Association (DFB), Frankfurt
  • 1997: Color and art design in the company Oscorna, Ulm
  • 2000: Winterbach Festival Hall, Peter Hahn, Winterbach, Wartburg Clinic, Eisenach,
  • 2001/2004: arrangement in the JVA, Wiesbaden; Design of the prayer room
  • 2004: Artistic color and design of the new building: Bad Salzungen Clinic
  • 2006: Color and artistic design of the Salierhalle, Winterbach
