Peter-Emil Rupp

Peter-Emil Rupp (born April 25, 1930 in Munich ; † March 19, 2006 in Wiesbaden ) was a global industrial manager.

Rupp grew up in Oelsnitz in the Vogtland and emigrated to Australia in 1948 as a youth functionary of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) after political persecution. After studying in Melbourne , he worked in a managerial position at international car companies such as General Motors , Volkswagen and Daimler Chrysler in Australia, the USA, China, Nigeria, Iran and Germany, among others. In 1990 he took over tasks for the privatization of the former GDR companies at the " Treuhand " and handled the GDR airline Interflug and the sewing machine factory in Wittenberge .

From 1991 to 2003 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

Rupp was an honorary citizen of his hometown Oelsnitz, an honorary member of the local branch of the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and the recipient of the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . He received a grave of honor in Oelsnitz.
