Peter A. Haub (* 1946 in Bayreuth ) is a German painter and sculptor.

Life

When he was nine, Haub had his first exhibition in the Old Castle in Bayreuth, together with his father. After completing school and an apprenticeship as a craftsman, he worked as a young filmmaker and in the profession he had learned. After that, he moved to Andalusia . Since then, Haub has had exhibitions at home and abroad. During his “time in Spain” he mainly created large-format oil paintings, which are clearly influenced by his great Franconian role model Albrecht Dürer . In the following years he mainly devoted himself to smaller formats.

Haub's style changed from a naturalist through surrealist attempts to a realism of his own that allowed him to express his concerns clearly.

From 1984 he lived in Bayreuth again. Here, among other things, the serigraphy folder “Clowns-Gedichte” and serigraphs for “It doesn't burn the angel”, linoleum and woodcuts for the angel series and the etchings for the anti-war cycle “Kosovo” were created. During this time he also created his bibliophile books in collaboration with the writers Günter Kunert , Dorothee Sölle and Wolf Peter Schnetz . Most recently, Haub worked on the etching sheets for Immermann's "Franconian Journey".

During this time he exercised several teaching activities. He was a lecturer at the adult education center in Erlangen and Bayreuth, a lecturer at the Faculty of Cultural Studies at the University of Bayreuth and taught art education at the Graf-Münster-Gymnasium , the Economics Gymnasium and the Christian-Ernestinum Humanistic Gymnasium in Bayreuth .

Haub has been living and working in seclusion on his farm in Warmensteinach in the Fichtelgebirge , Bayreuth district, since the 2010s .
