Wolf Peter Schnetz

Wolf Peter Schnetz (born September 27, 1939 in Regensburg ) is a German writer and publicist .

Life

He studied German , English , history , art history and theater studies in Erlangen, Mainz and Munich and founded the Junge Akademie München, the "Taschenzeitung" and the Maistrassenpresse in Munich in 1963 , a small publishing house in which the first publications by authors such as Karl Krolow and Günter Eich , Herbert Achternbusch , Angelika Mechtel and Uwe Herms appeared. In 1967 he received his doctorate. He was then on the organizing committee for the 1972 Summer Olympicsresponsible for culture in Munich. From 1968 to 1973 he was the cultural department in Regensburg and from 1973 to 2000 in Erlangen, before settling in Regensburg as a freelance writer in 2001. In 2004 the city of Regensburg appointed him as the representative for the application "Regensburg 2010" (European Capital of Culture; nomination for Berlin). He is also honorary chairman of the Association of German Writers (VS) in ver.di , Bavaria , was an assessor on the federal board from May 1986 to September 1987 and is a member of the writers' association PEN Center Germany .
