Hugo Carl Jüngst (born November 7, 1871 in Essen , † 1942 in Berlin ) was a German critic and poet .

Life

Born the son of a confectioner, he attended the teachers' seminar in Rheydt and became a teacher in Homberg before moving to Berlin to work on the editorial team of the magazine Die Zeit . In 1898 he founded the German literature and art newspaper in Dresden and in 1910 the magazine Schule und Elternhaus .

After the First World War he founded in Hagen the publisher Literary Institute Hagen i./W.
