Peter Anton von Wolkenstein-Trostburg
Peter Anton von Wolkenstein-Trostburg (* around 1665 in Trient ; † August 11, 1729 in Schwetzingen ) was an imperial count and chamberlain of the Palatinate .
Live and act
He came from the Tyrolean noble family Wolkenstein-Trostburg and was the son of Count Gaudenz Fortunat von Wolkenstein-Trostburg and his wife Margarethe von Altemps . Paternal grandmother was Ursula von Madrutz , Isabella von Lante on maternal side. Peter Anton von Wolkenstein-Trostburg was the brother of the Trento prince-bishop Anton Dominikus von Wolkenstein-Trostburg (1662–1730); his successor Dominikus Anton von Thun (1686–1758) his nephew (son of his sister Johanna).
Count von Wolkenstein-Trostburg acted under Elector Karl III. Philipp - formerly imperial governor in his native Tyrol - as chamberlain at the Electoral Palatinate court and died in August 1729 in Schwetzingen. In the castle there , the court mostly stayed in the summer months.
The chamberlain was buried at the neighboring parish church of St. Pankratius and received a sandstone epitaph attributed to the sculptor Paul Egell . It also shows the ancestral coats of arms of the deceased, which makes it possible to trace his ancestry; on the left the coats of arms of Selva and Madrutz, on the right Altemps and Lante. The specified age is 64 years. Today the tombstone is set into the outer wall of the church sacristy.
According to the inscription, it was made by his heir and nephew Anton Franz von Wolkenstein-Trostburg (1698–1750). He was the son of his brother Kaspar von Wolkenstein-Trostburg (1663–1729), who headed the secular government of the Principality of Trento .
