Peter Crow C. (* 29. January 1967 as Peter Krause in Munich ) is a guitarist , harmonica player (harmonica) and singer . His passion is the black American blues of the 1920s to 1940s. He played in the band The Crazy Hambones .

Career

Krause discovered his fun playing the guitar at the age of 18. His first exposure to the blues was an LP from Blind Blake . After a few musical excursions to bebop ( Charlie Parker or Wes Montgomery ) he soon turned to the blues for good.

He brought new inspiration from his travels to the USA ( New Orleans , Mississippi Delta, Boston ). Krause wrote more than half of his songs on his album "Greedy Woman Blues" himself and presented a pronounced musical diversity on this CD. For this album he received the German Record Award in 2005.

Together with the Berlin drummer Michael Maass and the singer / harp player Paul Orta he recorded the CD "Coolstep" in 2004, which in 2005 received the Blues Poll for the best German blues album. Orta had to drop out shortly afterwards for health reasons. This is why the blues harp player Henry Heggen joined the band. Since then , they have not only toured Germany under the name The Crazy Hambones . In 2007 they recorded the CD "Blowin the family jewels".

Krause changed his name after confusion with the singer Peter Kraus in Crow C. and founded the band Peter Crow C. and the Weedwackers in early 2008 . Together with his long-time friend and musician colleague Tony Ramos (harp and vocals) and the Hamburg bassist Dirk Vollbrecht , he dedicates himself to the original blues of the 20s to 40s. He is also a sought-after musician as a soloist.

In 2011 Peter Crow C. founded the band Black Patti together with Mr. Jelly Roll Kraemer , the two play a style of blues that was played in the deep south of the USA in the 20s and 30s, it feels like being blind Blake, Charley Patton or Robert Johnson stand on stage themselves. The first joint CD was recorded in the "Black Shack Recordings" studio, which specializes in vintage sounds, and released on the London-based record label "Rhythm Bomb Records".
