Peter Friedli
Peter Friedli (born August 8, 1925 in Bern ; † January 13, 2012 there ) was a Swiss photographer , painter and doctor .
Life

Photographer and publicist
Peter Friedli was best known for his photographic portraits of artists, gallery owners and curators. He also photographed writers, musicians and politicians. With his photographs he created an important archive that for a long time depicted the cultural life of the state capital Bern and also in Switzerland. With his Leica camera he tried to depict the character of the person being photographed through the photo. Peter Friedli went to art exhibitions or other public events with his camera and photographed the people performing there. For example, he photographed the entrepreneur Willy Michel together with Franz Gertsch for the book on the Franz Gertsch Museum in Burgdorf . In 1994, the Kunsthalle Bern exhibited 100 photographic portraits made by Peter Friedli as part of the Berner Galerietage. They showed well-known Swiss artists.
