Peter Götz Güttler

Peter Götz Güttler (born June 8, 1939 in Greifswald ) is a German medalist and architect .

Life

Güttler studied from 1961 to 1967 Architecture at the Technical University of Dresden . In addition to his work as an architect, he has been involved in painting, graphics and sculpture since 1956. From 1971 he occasionally created medals . Since around 1985 he has made medals the focus of his work. Most of his works of art are cast in white metal . Güttler is a founding member of the German Society for Medal Art . In 2009 he was awarded the Eligius Prize of the German Numismatic Society , whose medal Güttler himself had designed. In the same year he received the Hilde Broër Prize of the German Society for Medal Art. He lives and works in Dresden .

Peter Götz Güttler designed the art prize of the state capital Dresden in the form of a two-part bronze apple.

The Rudolf Günther Medal designed by Güttler for services in the field of monument preservation and monument protection in the city of Bad Salzuflen has been awarded by the local homeland and beautification association since 2014 .
