Peter Gallade often also Petrus Gallade (born September 4, 1708 in Lörchen , Lorraine , † November 29, 1780 in Heidelberg ) was a Jesuit and full professor of canon law at Heidelberg University .

Peter Gallade entered the Jesuit order in Mainz in 1734 . After studying in Heidelberg and Bamberg , he taught Hebrew, canon law and scholasticism at the Molsheim Jesuit College . Gallade obtained a doctorate in law (ecclesiastical law) at the University of Heidelberg, where he taught philosophy from 1746 to 1749. 1754–1769 he held the chair for canon law here and received his doctorate in 1765 a. a. the later Bamberg professor Ignaz Windisch (1736–1783) with him. In 1756/57 Peter Gallade held the office of rector of the university . In 1766 he became superior of the Heidelberg Jesuit Convention.

Then he was transferred to Bamberg, where he worked from 1769 to 1772 as rector of the Jesuit college and professor at the university there . In 1773 the Jesuit order was abolished and Gallade returned to Heidelberg as a secular priest . He died there in 1780 and was buried in the crypt of the Heidelberg Jesuit Church, where his simple grave with an epitaph has been preserved.

Peter Gallade published a large number of theological writings on his area of ​​canon law. He also held the dignity of an imperial court palatine .
