Peter Gentsch (born in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German entrepreneur , management consultant and serial entrepreneur specializing in digital management & data science .

Career

After completing his doctorate at the University of Applied Sciences for Business Management (WHU), Peter Gentsch was professor at the Technical University of Cologne (TH Cologne) from 2002 to 2004 . Since 2004 Peter Gentsch has held the professorship for international business administration with a focus on digital management and data science at the University of Applied Sciences for Technology and Economics (HTW) in Aalen. In addition, he works as a lecturer and reviewer at the University of St. Gallen and at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management. Gentsch is the author of several publications as well as a seminar speaker and keynote speaker on the topics of CRM , social media , business intelligence , digital transformation and innovation management .

Entrepreneurial activities

Peter Gentsch founded the BIG - Business Intelligence Group in Berlin in 2002 , which today supports various companies as a shareholder and investor (ConversionBoosting, intelliAd etc.) and has recently acquired mobalo GmbH. In 2006, Peter Gentsch took over TextTech GmbH, which he developed from a research-oriented organization into a well-established company on the market. In 2012, the listed USU Software AG acquired BIG Social Media GmbH, founded by Peter Gentsch, which initially functioned as an independent unit after the takeover and is now part of unymira, a USU brand.

Peter Gentsch is also founder and board member of DATAlovers AG, as well as founder and managing partner of Diva-e Digital Transformation Consulting GmbH. DATAlovers AG won Creditreform and Deutsche Telekom as investors. In April 2020, Schober Information Group Deutschland GmbH announced the takeover of the search engine "bearch" developed by DATAlovers AG. Diva-e Digital Transformation Consulting GmbH (DTC for short) received an award in May 2017 as the best management consultant in the Internet & E-Commerce industry and in the field of digitization.

In 2000 Peter Gentsch founded the Social Media Excellence Circle (SME). In 2017 the name was changed to "Digital Excellence Circle" (DEX). In 2019, the congress organizer Rising Media announced that it had taken over the Digital Excellence Circle from Peter Gentsch. The initiative currently has over 400 members from 180 companies. The initiative has set itself the goal of finding practical solutions to core issues and problems relating to social media . 2019 In addition, Peter Gentsch is co-initiator of the Chief Digital Officer Club (CDO) and the Institute for Customer Experience Management i-CEM. From 2000 to 2008 Peter Gentsch was a member of the Data Mining Cup jury.

Peter Gentsch's focus is on the planning, conception and implementation of holistic digital, e-business and e-business intelligence concepts. This also includes the use of big data infrastructures, data mining , advanced analytics and predictive analytics as well as customer journey management and xIntelligence: multi-channel analytics. Within these subject areas, Gentsch u. a. Audi , BMW , Bosch , Coca-Cola , Daimler , Deutsche Lufthansa , eBay , ERGO , FC Bayern Munich , Fraport , Google , Microsoft , MLP , Nintendo , O2 , Volkswagen .

Peter Gentsch was speaker at the 50th World Economic Forum in Davos in February 2020 .

Awards

  • German Market Research Innovation Award : In 2010, Peter Gentsch and Lufthansa won the German Market Research Innovation Award. The study Insight Mining - Modern Data Management based on Text Mining Technology deals with the efficient handling of the multitude of information sources with which company market researchers are confronted on a daily basis.
  • Digital Communication Award : Together with Deutsche Post / DHL, Gentsch won the 2011 international Digital Communication Award in the “Digital Monitoring and Evaluation” category.
  • German Prize for Online Communication : In 2014, Peter Gentsch won the German Prize for Online Communication in the category "Internal Online Communication" together with Deutsche Post / DHL.
  • Brand Eins nomination "Best Consultant 2017" : Diva-e Digital Transformation Consulting GmbH is one of the best management consultancies in the field of digitization.
