Peter Grant (drummer)

Peter Grant (* around 1960 in New York City ) is an American modern jazz musician ( drums ) .

Live and act

Grant grew up in New York and studied at the Manhattan School of Music . From the 1980s he worked in the city's jazz scene with musicians such as Harvie Swartz , who made his first recordings in 1980 ( Underneath It All ), as well as with Gerry Mulligan , Peggy Lee , the New York Voices , Claire Daly , Rodney Jones , John Basile and Mark Murphy ; he also performed with Astrud Gilberto , Peter Cincotti , Dave Samuels and Chuck Loeb . He toured Europe with Bob Dorough and Linda Hopkins . In the field of jazz he was involved in 24 recording sessions between 1980 and 2016. Currently (2019) he is a member of the Claire Daly Quartet.
