Peter Griese

Peter Griese (born June 22, 1938 in Frankfurt am Main , † April 29, 1996 in Bad Ems ) was a German science fiction writer. He became known as the author of the science fiction magazine series Perry Rhodan .

Life

Peter Griese discovered science fiction and his interest in writing while still at school. He studied electrical engineering in the field of electronics until he graduated as a qualified engineer and then went to the Bundeswehr, where his career as an officer led him to lieutenant colonel. In 1986 he gave up his military profession in favor of a career as a freelance writer.

Griese came into contact with Günter M. Schelwokat and Willi Voltz through the letters to the editor in the Perry Rhodan booklets and wrote some stories. In 1977 he wrote his first booklet novel, Im Bann der Psi-Intellektiven , which appeared in the TERRA ASTRA series. Since 1980 (Volume # 963, Mission der Flibustier ) he has been part of the team of authors for the Perry Rhodan series, and shortly afterwards he took over the editorial management of the Atlan daughter series until it was hired . After Kurt Mahr's death , Griese wrote the Perry Rhodan Computer section and was temporarily responsible for the content of the Perry Rhodan Report up to number 267.

Peter Griese died of heart failure at the age of 57. A good three months after his death, his last book novel , Flucht durch Bröhnder , was published, the unfinished manuscript of which had been completed by Robert Feldhoff .
