Peter Gutjahr-Löser

Peter Gutjahr-Löser (born April 27, 1940 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer and former Chancellor of Leipzig University .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1960, Gutjahr-Löser studied law , political science , philosophy and educational science at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn at the Humanist Gymnasium Garmisch-Partenkirchen . He was a research assistant at the University of Regensburg from 1968 to 1971 and passed his first (1966) and second state examination (1970).

He then worked as a lawyer and worked for the general administration of the Max Planck Society (MPG) in Munich and Bonn. In 1972 he was also the managing director of the Federal Freedom of Science (BFW). From 1974 he was head of the Academy for Politics and Current Affairs of the CSU-affiliated Hanns Seidel Foundation and later head of the MPG in Munich. From 1991 to 2005 he was Chancellor of the University of Leipzig. He is chairman of the interDaF , an institute for pre-university language courses in German, at the Herder Institute in Leipzig.

He is also the editor of several volumes of the Theodor Litt Yearbook .

Peter Gutjahr-Löser is a member of the FDP . He was a candidate for the Leipzig I constituency in the 2005 Bundestag election and received 5.2 percent of the first vote .

He is married and has two children.
