The broadcast was designed to last 30 minutes. In front of a window with a view of the Brandenburg Gate, Hahne spoke to guests from politics, society and culture about “socially relevant topics”. Hahne himself described the concept of his talk show as a "demanding boulevard ".
background
In the media, the format was partially interpreted as ZDF-internal compensation within the framework of the station's internal party proporzes. After Bettina Schausten took over the management of the ZDF capital studio in Berlin, it would have been customary to appoint the deputy from the station's social democratic camp. Hahne does not belong to this group. After his contract expired on April 1, 2010, he moved to the ZDF program management. The new program was launched in the same environment. Reviews
In the first few months, the statements made by German media journalists about the program concept implemented and Hahne's moderation were mostly negative. Hahne were particularly accused of a lack of distance and criticism:
