Peter Higgins
Peter Higgins ( Francis Peter Higgins ; born November 16, 1928 in Stockton-on-Tees , † September 8, 1993 ) was a British sprinter .
At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in 1954 , he won gold with the English team in the 4-by-440-yard relay.
In 1956 he reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Melbourne over 400 m . In the 4 x 400 meter relay , he won the bronze medal with the British quartet consisting of John Salisbury , Wheeler , Higgins and Derek Johnson .
In 1957 he became British champion over 440 yards .
