Peter Hinrich Tesdorpf (born June 21, 1751 in Lübeck ; † May 6, 1832 there ) was a German merchant and mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Peter Hinrich Tesdorpf was the only son of the businessman of the same name and his wife Elisabeth Dorothea Benser (born August 12, 1720 in Lübeck; † June 27, 1751 there). The maternal grandfather was the Lübeck merchant Hinrich Benser.

Tesdorpf was raised by his father, who also bore the traditional name Peter Hinrich of the wine merchant family founded by Peter Hinrich Tesdorpf for Lübeck around 1678 , partly in France, in an elite school of the French nobility in Vincennes near Paris. After extensive educational trips, he initially worked in Hamburg and only returned to Lübeck after his father's death. As a merchant, he became a member of the merchant company . In 1779 Tesdorpf acquired the house at Königstraße 11 , today's Behnhaus , and made it a social center of Lübeck of its time.

The enthusiastic friend of France and successful businessman moved to Paris in 1787 , but returned to Lübeck in 1789 because of the revolution . In 1798 he was elected to the city council. After 1802, Tesdorpf entrusted the Danish interior designer Joseph Christian Lillie with the redesign of the interior of his house. Unfavorable deals forced him to sell the Behnhaus to the councilor Mattheus Rodde in 1805 . During the French period in Lübeck in 1811 he became a member of the municipal council and in 1812 a tax collector for a consumption tax. In 1813 again councilor, he was only elected mayor in 1827 .
