Peter Huber-Saffer (born November 11, 1980 in Wolfratshausen ) is a former German basketball player on the position of indoor player . The 2.08 meter center played 69 Bundesliga games for Telekom Baskets Bonn between 2001 and 2005 . At the international level, he was active for the German A2 and the student national team.

career

Huber-Saffer grew up on Lake Starnberg and moved to the second division Rhöndorf in 1999 . Two years later he was signed by the Bundesliga club Telekom Baskets Bonn , for which he competed in the basketball Bundesliga and European Cup in the following years .

In 2005 Huber-Saffer moved from Bonn to the second division MTV Stuttgart and in 2006 to USC Heidelberg , also second division . In the three years in Stuttgart and Heidelberg, respectively, he was one of the best German players in the second division.

In 2008 he moved to Northern Germany. He joined the regional league team SC Rist Wedel , from then on professional things were in the foreground over basketball. Nonetheless, Huber-Saffer remained successful in basketball, leading Wedel to the championship title in the 1st Regionalliga Nord and promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in 2009 . Following the 2008/09 season, he was named Player of the Year in the Regionalliga Nord by the internet portal eurobasket.com . With the Wedeler Verein Huber-Saffer played in the ProB until December 2012, before taking a cut on basketball. Later he was still in the lower class for the Hamburg club Blau-Weiß Ellas.

National team

With the German national student team, Huber-Saffer played his way to the semifinals at the 2001 Universiade in Beijing. He was also part of the German A2 national team.
