Copa México 1959/60

The Copa MX 1959/60 was the 18th edition of the football - cup competition since the introduction of professional football in Mexico . The tournament was played following the league round of the 1959/60 season. Only the 14 teams that were represented in the country's top division in the same season were eligible to participate . The winner was the Club Necaxa team , which won the cup competition for the first time this season in the professional era, but was already successful four times during the so-called amateur era (1925, 1926, 1933 and 1936).

The encounters were played in the knockout system . Due to the participation of 14 teams, two teams ( Celaya FC and CD Zacatepec ) advanced by bye in the first round . All rounds except for the final were played in home and away games with one home right for both opponents. The final venue was the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Mexico City .
