Peter Kortmann

Peter Kortmann (born August 14,  1961 in Paderborn ) is a German basketball coach .

career

During his playing career for the BC70 Soest, Kortmann played in the major league and acted as a player -coach , in 1987 he was promoted to the 2nd basketball league with the Neukölln Sportfreunde , and from 1988 he was also an assistant coach for the Berlin team. Later, Kortmann was still part of the regional league team TV Salzkotten .

In the 1995/96 season he looked after the men's team at BC 70 Soest as head coach in the Oberliga, from 1996 to 1998 he was men's coach at SVD 49 Dortmund (regional league), then in the 1998/99 season at UBC Münster (also regional league). At the same time, Kortmann was also active in youth work at both clubs. In the 1999/2000 season he coached the offspring of TV Salzkotten, followed by three years in the service of TV Werne from 2000 to 2003 , where he coached the regional league men and was also involved in the youth field. From 2003 to 2006, Kortmann sat on the bench at regional league team TV Salzkotten and trained the U18 youth team of the Paderborn Baskets as part of the local youth cooperation .

In 2006, Kortmann worked for the Iranian Basketball Association and acted as the national coach of the country's U18 team. He stayed abroad and was head coach of the Luxembourg first division club AS Zolwer from 2006 to 2008 . In 2008 he took over the post of head coach at the women's Bundesliga club SV Halle and was also involved in the youth work. In 2009 he led the indoor women to the semi-finals of the German championship. His contract in Halle ended at the end of June 2011.

In the 2011/12 season, Kortmann was head coach of the women's Bundesliga club Osnabrücker SC . The Lower Saxons reached the semi-finals of the German cup competition under his leadership. There followed a year as a coach of the ChemCats Chemnitz in the second women's division by winning the championship. After the end of his tenure in Saxony, he moved to Grüner Stern Keltern in the second division in 2013 , and at the end of January 2015 they separated. From the beginning of February 2015 until the end of the 2014/15 season, he worked as a coach for TuS Bad Aibling (also 2nd Bundesliga) for a few months . In summer 2015 he took up the position of head coach of the Rhein-Main Baskets . In addition to his work in the second women's Bundesliga, he also worked in the youth division of TV 1862 Langen .

In May 2018, Kortmann was introduced as the new coach of the women's Bundesliga club Eintracht Braunschweig , who had recently teamed up with second division champion Wolfpack Wolfenbüttel  . He stayed in office until the end of the 2018/19 season, in which he led the Lower Saxons into the championship round. On June 1, 2019, he took up a full-time coaching position at BG Bonn 92, where he worked in the girls' and women's areas. He stayed in office until early March 2020. At the end of April 2020, the women's Bundesliga club SV Halle Kortmann announced their commitment. He returned to a previous place of work.
