Peter "Piet" Krebs (born June 9, 1957 in Olsztyn ) is a former handball player and sports journalist.

Peter Krebs played in a total of 300 handball Bundesliga games from 1978 to 1990 and was German champion and cup winner several times during his active handball career with the GWD Minden and TUSEM Essen clubs . He was considered one of the best defensive players on the international stage. With GWD Minden, Piet Krebs won the German Cup in 1979 in his second year at the club. After moving to TUSEM Essen, the defense specialist celebrated five titles within four seasons with his teammates, including Alfreð Gíslason , Jochen Fraatz and Stefan Hecker . The era is still considered to be TUSEM Essen's most successful period.

Piet Krebs also studied journalism from 1983 to 1989 at the University of Dortmund . His diploma thesis dealt with the topic "Sport Bild - strategy and new development of a sports magazine". After completing his studies and his active handball career, Piet Krebs worked from 1992 to 2000 as head of service for Sat.1 television and in this role was also responsible for the sports program ran .
