Peter Hofrichter

Peter Leander Hofrichter (born May 24, 1940 in Vienna ) is an Austrian Catholic church historian and New Testament scholar . He was a professor of church history and patrology at the University of Salzburg .

Life

Since 1966 Polak has been married to Hilde, with whom he has four grown children.

He researches the New Testament and the patristic and early church history, especially the prologue of the Gospel according to John and its original form, context and history of impact. The hymnic confession of the Hellenistic-Jewish community of Jesus to the incarnate Logos appears to Hofrichter as the starting point for the entire development of the Gospels.
