Peter Lokk (born July 24, 1957 in Nuremberg ) is a German media educator and journalist. He heads the Journalist Academy Dr. Hooffacker .

Life

Career

During his studies of German and history he was on the state board of the Junge Presse Bavaria . Lokk founded the Nürnberger Stadtzeitung in 1977 and Kommunikation und Neue Medien e. V., the sponsoring association of the CL network . He has been involved in grassroots journalism for more than 25 years : alternative press, free radios, online citizen networking.

Publications

To date, Peter Lokk has published nine non-fiction books as a co-author as well as essays and contributions to books. As early as the early 1990s, he warned against right-wing extremist activities on the Internet . In 1997, together with Gabriele Hooffacker, this resulted in the online guide on politics and society , which on the one hand showed the possibilities of political participation and on the other hand the dangers of political agitation online. Teaching

In 1997, Peter Lokk designed one of the first communal Internet cafés in Germany for the city ​​of Nuremberg's educational center . Since 1999 Peter Lokk has been the managing director of the Munich Journalist Academy , where he teaches journalism and press work. Peter Lokk had and still has numerous teaching positions, including at the Georg Simon Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg , the Leipzig University of Technology, Economics and Culture and the Leipzig School of Media .

Awards

Together with Gabriele Hooffacker , Peter Lokk received the first prize from the Society for Media Education (GMK) in 1997. He is a member of the juries of the Alternative Media Prize , which he initiated, and of the German Human Rights Film Prize .
