Peter Menne

Peter Menne (born June 22, 1962 in Delbrück ( North Rhine-Westphalia )) is a German illustrator and caricaturist .

Life

Peter Menne grew up in Delbrück and completed a typesetter internship in Paderborn in 1982 . He then studied graphic design from 1983 to 1991 with a focus on illustration and free drawing with Karl-Heinz Meyer at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences . From 1991 to 1993 he studied free painting at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art . In 1993 he received a grant from the Lippe regional association and the city of Schieder-Schwalenberg .

Menne was a lecturer at the Schwalenberg Summer Academy from 1994 to 2000, where he taught life drawing and illustration. During his lectureship at the BEST-Sabel-Hochschule Berlin for Design from 2003 to 2008 he also taught illustration and free drawing.

Menne has been a caricaturist and illustrator since 1995. He has lived in Potsdam with his family since 1995.

Mennes drawings contain satire and descriptions of the environment. In his works (publications and exhibitions) he addresses the mentality of the petty bourgeoisie . His fields of work include magazine and book illustration, posters, cartoons, advertising and hidden objects . He works for various German magazines, daily newspapers, specialist journals and publishers.
