Peter Mullins (born September 15, 1931 in London , Great Britain ) is a British film architect .
Live and act
Mullins began working as an assistant set designer in 1947 and was employed by the BBC as an outfitter in the 1950s . In 1960 he made his debut as a film architect and initially designed the sets for simple, low-budget British crime films based on models by Edgar Wallace . With his drafts for Joseph Losey's World War I drama King and Country - For King and Fatherland , he was also allowed to design the film structures for an A production for the first time in 1964.
From 1976 Mullins designed the sets for the films in the " Pink Panther series " until he largely withdrew from the cinema business in 1993. In the mid-1980s, the Londoner also worked briefly in Hollywood, where he was only responsible for routine productions ( Death Wish III - The Avenger of New York , Shanghai Surprise ) . His most effective backdrops include the work on Guy Green's " Luther " biography, Jack Gold's occult shocker " The Terror of Medusa " and Brian G. Hutton's rough war strip " Agents Die Lonely " . In his late working years, Mullins designed several television productions such as B. the Anglo-American horror series ' Tales from the Crypt ' , before he retired at the turn of the millennium.
Mullins was married to actress Jennifer Jayne (1931-2006) from 1958 until her death .
