action
Paul Kersey returns to New York City to visit an old comrade Charley from the Korean War . Just before Kersey's arrival, Charley is ambushed and beaten up by a gang in the neighborhood. When Kersey finds his comrade, he dies in his arms. Immediately afterwards the police arrive and arrest Kersey as a murderer. In jail he meets gang chief Fraker and Charley's neighbor Bennett. Bennett explains to Kersey that the neighborhood where some retirees still live has become a slum. Robbery and murder are the order of the day. A gang of punks and thugs under Fraker's leadership take the old residents out or murder them. Senior official Shriker knows Kersey and offers him the deal to work as an informant.
Through the intervention of his public defender Davis, he is released again, but only because he agreed to the deal. With the help of the old residents, Kersey plans to decimate the gang, for example by miming the helpless victim or installing traps. But Fraker and his gang are not that easy to chase away. After the gang murdered the wife of a Mexican and declares war on Fraker Kersey, a suburban battle breaks out between the police and summoned motorcycle gangs. When Kersey runs out of ammunition in battle, he goes to Charley's apartment, where Fraker is waiting for him. Fraker, believed to be killing Kersey, was thrown out of the house by a LAW rocket and was fatally wounded. After that, the fighting ends abruptly and Kersey flees the city.

Reviews
“A spectacle of violence that does not take any critical distance from the criminal acts depicted. Full of technical and dramaturgical bumps. "
“Whether" Death Wish III - The Avenger of New York "is an unparalleled ultra-right action massacre or its own deconstruction, trash research is still preoccupied today. In any case, the seventh and final Winner / Bronson collaboration is a bit of an old but shamelessly entertaining piece of action-madness. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the film makes you laugh or rather makes you cry. "
