Marina Sirtis (born March 29, 1955 in London ) is a British - American actress .

Life

Marina Sirtis' parents have Greek roots, she has a younger brother. After graduating from Tottenham High Girls School, she attended and graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. During this time she played in television series and had smaller roles.

In 1986 Sirtis went to the USA in Los Angeles . There she got the role of psychological ship consultant Deanna Troi in the science fiction series Spaceship Enterprise - The Next Century , her most famous role to date , in 1987 after six unsuccessful months, shortly before her visa expired . In the follow-up series Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager , Star Trek: Enterprise and Star Trek: Picard she had some guest appearances.

Marina Sirtis lives in the USA. She was from 1992 until his death in December 2019 with the rock - guitarist Michael Lamper married.
