Finders Keepers is an American horror film of Alexander Yellen from the year 2014 . It stars Jaime Pressly , Patrick Muldoon , Kylie Rogers and Tobin Bell . The television film premiered on October 18, 2014 on the US broadcaster Syfy .

Two police officers enter a house and find the murdered family on the stairs and in the house. In one room they are suddenly attacked and killed by the son with a knife. Five years later, Allyson Simon and her 9-year-old daughter Claire moved into the big old house in the country after her divorce from her husband Jonathan.
Daughter Claire is suspicious of the house and wonders if something bad has happened here. When her mother asks the realtor about it, he denies this and claims that there were even several interested parties in the house. Soon after moving, she learns of a brutal family murder that happened there, which the realtor has kept from her. Her daughter finds a worry doll and slowly develops a dangerous obsession with the bewitched toy.
When Claire is visiting her father, the first murders occur when his new girlfriend allegedly commits suicide. The accidents soon pile up. Allyson seeks out Zachary, who murdered his family five years ago, to learn more. Since the conversation remained inconclusive, she does her own research. She later learns that Zachary broke out of psychiatric hospital after her visit. Claire's behavior becomes more and more noticeable and her parents decide that the doll has to go away. However, under mysterious circumstances she appears again and again with the child and begins to develop a voodoo relationship with the child: everything that happens to Claire happens to the doll and vice versa.
Allyson sends her daughter to Dr. Freeman. He interprets the injuries to Claire, which occurred as a result of the attempted destruction of the dolls, as domestic violence and threatens to contact the youth welfare office with the next injury. Allyson's friend, Prof. Elena Carranza, is an expert on the supernatural. So she is allowed to keep the doll in her laboratory for examination. Her assistant is soon cruelly murdered. In the meantime, Dr. Freeman reads the video footage of the sessions with Claire and discovers from her facial expressions that she lied about domestic violence. The doll shows up in the practice and soon the doctor is dead.
Prof. Elena Carranza appears at the Simon family and decides to distance the child and the doll from each other. Although there are almost three leagues between the two, Claire is still under the spell. Elena suggests removing the doll's eyes to break the connection. Claire disappears and while searching for her Elena is doused with gasoline by the girl and set on fire - before Claire removed her eyes.
The paths lead back to the old house, in which there is a fight between mother and daughter. Father Jonathan can finally remove and destroy the doll's eyes and break the curse. Reconciled, the parents decide to give their marriage a second chance and they sell the house. At the end you see Zachary on a country road.

In one scene at the end of the film, Claire Simon stands alone in her children's room with her back to the door. When her father enters the room, she turns her head 180 degrees. This scene is reminiscent of The Exorcist from 1973.

The lack of tension and the plot based on the horror films Sinister and Chucky - The Murderer Doll were criticized . The acting performances of Kylie Rogers and Tobin Bell were praised, and this was received negatively by the leading actress Jaime Pressly . The dialogues between the characters in the film were also questioned.
The film received a rating of 27% on Rotten Tomatoes .
