Bullseye - the crazy diamond coup alternatively bullseye hit! (Original title: Bullseye! ) Is a crime comedy with Roger Moore and Michael Caine from 1990. Directed by Michael Winner .

action

Shortly after his release from prison , the petty crook Sidney Lipton meets his former comrade, the con man Garald Bradley-Smith, at the mutual ex-lover Willie, who persuades the two after initial concerns to a new coup. Here, the two should make use of their similarity to the two scientists Doctor Hicklar and Sir John Bevistock, who are currently working on a new type of clean and almost free energy generation system.

For this, both received diamonds as an advance payment , which are stored in two safe deposit boxes. The two crooks manage to make prints of the keys and find out the combination of numbers in the compartments. The robbery goes smoothly, but Sidney and Garald can be caught by the police a little later because they were betrayed by a policeman friend. Both are taken to CIA and MI5 officials , who explain to Sidney and Garald that Hicklar and Bevistock intended to sell their energy method formula to the highest bidder rather than the UK . Sidney and Garald are now being asked to employ the bidders on a trip on the Orient Express through Scotland , while the agents of the scientists who have now been arrested try to find out where the formula is. The gangsters are supported by the CIA agent Flo Fleming, who later turns out to be the daughter of Willie and one of the two.

The scientists manage to escape, but Sidney and Garald can turn them over to the police and Flo Flemming finds the formula. However, when Fleming is turned away by the CIA, she hands Sidney and Garald, her potential fathers, the formula. They are now selling the formula to Great Britain, so they can compensate for the failure with the counterfeit diamonds and settle in the Caribbean while Flo Flemming now works in New Mexico.

The power plant now built according to the formula turns out to be a failure and explodes when it opens.

Reviews

"Agent comedy with two veteran stars who lack convincing gags and rhythm."

"Conclusion: Stars in a double pack are only halfway amusing."

“Funny, almost nostalgic rogue comedy by professional director Michael Winner [...], which fully relies on the presence of his relaxed acting old stars Roger Moore [...] and Michael Caine [...]. Riddled with running gags and verbal silliness, a carefully staged agent story unfolds, as it was current in the 70s. Not least because of Roger Moore's involvement, one feels reminded of various Bond films. The lack of high-tech action in particular will win over audiences for the film that are too hard and loud in most action comedies. "
