Peter Joseph "Pod" O'Donnell (born February 28, 1939 , † January 9, 2008 in Hallidays Point ) was an Australian sailor .
successes
Peter O'Donnell took part in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo in the 5.5 meter class next James Sargeant as a crew member of helmsman Bill Northam part. The three Australians won three of the seven races and became Olympic champions with 5981 points ahead of the Swedish boat around Lars Thörn and the US boat led by John McNamara . In 1958 and 1987 O'Donnell won the Sydney-Hobart Regatta , and he also took part in the America's Cup .
