Peter Ofori-Quaye (born March 21, 1980 in Accra ) is a Ghanaian soccer player who has been under contract with Bechem United since October 2011 .
Career
In the club
Ofori-Quaye moved in December 1995 from the Ghanaian first division club GHAPOHA Readers from Tema to the Alpha Ethniki club PS Kalamata ; by his goal on May 25, 1996 against Apollon Smyrnis , he became the youngest scorer of the Alpha Ethniki at the age of 16 years and 65 days. After eight goals in 34 league games for Kalamata, Ofori-Quaye moved to Olympiacos in the summer of 1997 for a transfer fee of four million US dollars . On October 1, 1997, at the age of 17 years and 195 days, Ofori-Quaye scored a goal in the UEFA Champions League against Norwegian club Rosenborg Trondheim . With the club he won the Greek championship every year until his move; in 1999 Olympiakos was after goals from Dimitris Mavrogenidis and Ofori-Quaye also cup winners , 2001 and 2002 they finished second in the competition. Ofori-Quaye played a total of 80 league games for Olympiakos and scored 24 goals. In 2003 he switched to the Liberty Professionals from Dansoman ; In December 2005 he signed a contract with Greek first division club OFI Crete , where he scored eight goals in 45 games. Between 2007 and 2008 Ofori-Quaye was in the squad of the Israeli first division club Hapoel Ironi Kirjat Schmona and scored four goals in 26 games. In July 2008 he moved to the Cypriot first division club AEL Limassol , which he left in 2010 after three goals in eleven league games. After a year without a club - Ofori-Quaye had not switched to Hearts of Oak SC from Accra as announced - the striker signed a one-year contract with the Premier League promoted Bechem United from Bechem in early October 2011 .
In the national team
Ofori-Quaye made his debut for the Ghanaian national team in 1998. To date, he has played eighteen international matches for the Black Stars, in which he scored two goals. However, he has not been considered for the international team since 2007.
