Peter Pechauf

Peter Pechauf (born March 7, 1941 in Sonneberg ) is a former German SED functionary. He was the last First Secretary of the Suhl SED district leadership .

Life

After graduating from high school, Pechauf, the son of an accountant and a saleswoman , studied to become a subject teacher for German and history at the Pedagogical Institute in Leipzig between September 1959 and July 1963, and from September 1966 to July 1967 additional training as a subject teacher for civics . 1963/64 he was a teacher at the Polytechnische Oberschule Eishausen , from 1964 to 1966 and again from 1967 to 1969 he was a teacher at the Hermann-Pistor-Oberschule in Sonneberg.

In 1967 he joined the SED. From March to August 1969 secretary for agitation and propaganda and then from September 1969 to July 1972 he was second secretary of the FDJ district leadership Sonneberg and 1971/72 acting representative of the first secretary of the FDJ district leadership Sonneberg. From August 1972 to August 1975 he then acted as first secretary of the FDJ district leadership Hildburghausen .

Between September 1975 and July 1978 he studied at the party college at the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow , graduating as a social scientist .

From August 1978 to January 1979 he was head of the propaganda sector of the agitation and propaganda department of the SED district leadership in Suhl, from February 1979 to August 1985 as second secretary of the SED district leadership in Sonneberg and from August 1985 to November 1989 as first secretary of the SED - District leadership Meiningen .

From 1986 to November 1989, Pechauf was a member of the SED district leadership in Suhl. On November 2, 1989, he was unanimously elected First Secretary of the Suhl SED district leadership by the district leadership. In December 1989 he was also a member of the working committee for the preparation of the extraordinary party congress of the SED. Until February 1990 he remained the first secretary of the district leadership and chairman of the district executive committee Suhl of the SED-PDS.

From March to April 1990 he was a member of the district board of PDS Suhl, from April 1990 to June 1991 he worked in the editorial department of “Our New Newspaper” (UNZ) in Erfurt , then from July 1991 to January 1996 managing director and sales manager of the UNZ publishing company mbH in Erfurt.

From 1996 to 2000 he worked for a debt collection company in Erfurt and between 2000 and 2004 he worked as an honorary teacher for German, history, social studies and geography and work studies in adult education in Coburg . In April 2004, Pechauf retired .
