Peter Raimund (Carcassonne)
Peter Raimund ( French : Pierre Raymond , occit : Pere Ramon ; † around 1061) was count of part of Carcassonne and vice count of Béziers and Agde since 1012 . He was the eldest son of Count Raimund I. Roger († around 1011) and his wife Garsinde (Garsendis), the heiress of Béziers and Agde .
Since Peter Raimund's father died before his grandfather, Count Roger I , his legacy, the County of Carcassonne, passed directly to Peter Raimund and his younger brother Wilhelm Raimund . Both brothers now shared rule over Carcassonne .
Wilhelm Raimund died in 1034, leaving behind three underage sons, for whom Bishop Peter Roger of Girona , Peter Raimund's uncle, took over the guardianship. After the bishop died in 1050, he did not bequeath his share in Carcassonne to Peter Raimund, but to the cousin Count Roger I of Foix , who as Roger II was now count of part of Carcassonne.
Count Peter Raimund died around 1061.
