Peter Schnell (Author)

Peter Schnell (born June 6, 1941 in Schlettau ) is a German civil engineer and railway manager who worked as an author after his retirement .

Youth and education

Quickly grew up in the Rhineland . The university acquired Quick on the second-chance education . He studied civil engineering at the University of Stuttgart .

job

The doctor of civil engineering worked for the Deutsche Bundesbahn and Deutsche Bahn AG since 1969 . For many years he held leading positions, e.g. B. in the responsibility for timetables, for marketing in long-distance traffic, for the railway technology of the local traffic as well as as president for the railway direction Stuttgart. Most recently, with his office in Stuttgart, he was Group Representative of Deutsche Bahn AG for the Southwest region and the state of Baden-Württemberg .

Schnell left Deutsche Bahn AG when he reached the age limit.

As a writer quickly became active after his ninety-six days lasting walk as pilgrims on the route of the Camino de Santiago , as far as Santiago de Compostela , a pilgrimage in Galicia ( Spain had) managed. The starting point of the two-thousand-six-hundred-kilometer pilgrimage was on July 27, 2006, the workplace of the group representative, located at Stuttgart main station , after saying goodbye to colleagues and employees.

High altitude climbers

High- altitude mountaineer is fast and has reached several peaks at an altitude of over five thousand meters. In August 2003, as a member of a sixteen- person expedition on Mustagh Ata , in the western China region , led by Arnold Hasenkopf, he reached the glaciated summit at an altitude of 7,546 meters.

Volunteering

Peter Schnell is involved in Pfungstadt , Darmstadt-Dieburg district , in the local volunteer initiative Warenkorb , which helps fellow citizens in a given personal and economic emergency. He works as a pilgrimage advisor for the Franconian Jakobusgesellschaft .
