Peter Sellemond
Peter Sellemond (born January 14, 1884 in Feldthurns , † November 16, 1942 in Hall in Tirol ) was an Austrian sculptor and carver .
Life
As the son of a mountain farmer in South Tyrol, Peter Sellemond was an apprentice to the cabinet maker and altar maker Josef Meraner in Klausen and passed his master craftsman examination in 1902 with Josef Bachlechner the Elder. Ä. in Hall in Tirol. From 1909 to 1911 he was a guest student at the State Trade School in Innsbruck , and in 1911 he took six months of painting lessons with Alfons Siber .
Sellemond took the entrance examination at the Art Academy in Munich in 1914 , but did military service due to the First World War . After the war Sellemond founded his own studio in Hall and was represented in exhibitions as a member of the Tyrolean Artists Association.
