Peter Studer

Peter Studer (born November 8, 1935 in Davos ) is a Swiss lawyer and journalist . He is a doctor of law and a lawyer .

From 2001 to the end of 2007 he was Roger Blum's successor on the Swiss Press Council . Before that, he worked as a journalist for the Tages-Anzeiger (from 1978 to 1987 as editor-in-chief ), its publisher Tamedia and, most recently, for Swiss television (editor-in-chief 1990–1999). In 1988/1989 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Dispatch Agency .

The University of St. Gallen , where Peter Studer teaches media law, made him an honorary doctorate in 2005 .
