Peter Yariyok Jatau

Peter Yariyok Jatau (* 1931 in Uromi ) is old archbishop of Kaduna , Nigeria .

Life

Peter Yariyok Jatau was ordained a priest on July 7, 1963 . Pope Paul VI appointed him on June 26, 1972 as coadjutor archbishop of Kaduna and titular archbishop of Velebusdus .

The Apostolic Delegate in Nigeria, Amelio Poggi , consecrated him bishop on November 5th of that year ; Co- consecrators were Alexius Obabu Makozi , Bishop of Lokoja , and Patrick Ebosele Ekpu , Coadjutor Bishop of Benin City

After John MacCarthy's resignation from the SMA , he succeeded him on April 10, 1975 as Archbishop of Kaduna. On November 16, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
