Amelio Poggi
Amelio Poggi (born October 9, 1914 in Bibbiena , Arezzo province , Italy ; † December 23, 1974 ) was an Italian clergyman, Roman Catholic archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .
Life
Amelio Poggi received on 8 August 1937, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On May 27, 1967, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Cercina and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in Rwanda and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Uganda . Pope Paul VI on July 16 of the same year donated his episcopal ordination ; Co - consecrators were Curia Bishop Jacques-Paul Martin and the Bishop of Cesena , Augusto Gianfranceschi . On September 26, 1973 Paul VI appointed him. to the Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Syria .
