Luigi Bellotti

Luigi Bellotti (born March 17, 1914 in Verona , Italy ; † September 23, 1995 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Luigi Bellotti received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Verona on July 11, 1937 .

On July 18, 1964, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Voncariana and ordered him to apostolic delegate in the Central African Republic . The Bishop of Verona, Giuseppe Carraro , ordained him episcopal on October 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Lanciano and Ortona , Pacifico Maria Luigi Perantoni, OFM , and the Bishop of Foggia , Giuseppe Lenotti .

On November 27, 1969, Luigi Bellotti became Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Uganda . Paul VI appointed him on September 2, 1975 as Apostolic Nuncio in Uruguay . Luigi Bellotti became Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Finland and Iceland on October 27, 1981 and Apostolic Delegate in Scandinavia . On October 2, 1982, he was also Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Denmark , Sweden and Norway . In October 1985 Bellotti resigned from these offices.

Luigi Bellotti attended the third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
