Petra Hoffmann

Petra Hoffmann (* in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German opera singer ( soprano ) and interpreter of contemporary works.

Life

She received her vocal training from Elsa Cavelti at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . In addition, she studied with Charles Spencer , Paul Esswood and Sir John Eliot Gardiner .

In guest contracts among others as Blondchen ( Die Entführung aus dem Serail ), Frasquita ( Carmen ), Lenio ( Greek Passion ), Zerlina ( Don Giovanni ), Queen of the Night ( The Magic Flute ) she was at the Opéra de la Monnaie Bruxelles, the theater Basel , the Opera Real Madrid, the Teattro Nacional de São Carlos, Lisbon, the Stuttgart State Opera , the Bayrische Staatsschauspiel Marstall and the Teatro La Fenice , Venice. As an interpreter of contemporary works, Hoffmann has appeared at the Salzburg Festival , La Biennale di Venezia , Styrian Autumn, Lucerne Festival, Wien Modern, “musica viva” Munich, Ruhrtriennale , Milano Musica and in Japan.

She has given concerts with Maurizio Pollini and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra , the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra , Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Modern and ensemble recherche under the conductors Claudio Abbado , Ingo Metzmacher , Péter Eötvös , Frieder Bernius , Antonio Pappano , Kwamé Ryan , Emilio Pomàrico , Sylvain Cambreling and Mark Foster .
