Parish church Übersaxen

The Roman Catholic parish church Übersaxen is exposed in the south of the municipality Übersaxen in the Feldkirch district in Vorarlberg . The parish church consecrated to St. Bartholomew belongs to the Rankweil deanery of the Feldkirch diocese . The church and the cemetery are under monument protection .
history
The original branch of the Liebfrauenbergkirche in Rankweil was expanded in 1630 with a new church building as a foundation of the church caretaker Blasius Künzli and raised to a parish church in 1637. Restorations were carried out in 1721 and around 1830. In 1896 the nave was enlarged by two yokes .
architecture
The north- facing baroque church stands in a walled cemetery. The nave and the choir with a three-eighth closure are under a common gable roof. A side aisle is built on the west side as a confessional chapel under a flat roof. On the east side there is a staircase to the gallery and the sacristy . The tower with coupled arched sound openings has a pointed gable helmet with further smaller arched sound openings in the gable fields in the north and east. The nave and the choir show themselves without a plastic structure.
Furnishing
The high altar from the end of the 18th century has a curved floor plan with four columns, a cranked entablature and a canopy. It shows the high altar painting Trinity and carries the figures Bartholomäus on the left, Johannes Evangelist on the right, and two kneeling angels in the excerpt with four seated putti. The tabernacle with volute ribbons has two kneeling putti and a standing cross. All the figures were created by Josef Klemens Witwer around 1790. According to the inscription in the cartouche, the high altar was renovated in 1913 by Anton Jehly from Bludenz .
The organ was built by Anton Behmann in 1894 . A bell was cast by Joseph Anton Graßmayr in 1846.
