architecture

To the single- three-bay sting cap barrel-vaulted nave includes einjochiger choir with a five-eighth final at. The former rib vault of the choir has been redesigned in Baroque style. A gallery was added to the north side of the nave in the early 18th century . The tower in the northern corner of the choir has a Gothic storey with former sound windows with cloverleaf arch and two upper storeys converted into an octagon. The tower has a late baroque onion helmet. The end of the choir shows a late Gothic keystone to the north.

Furnishing

The early classical high altar around 1784 shows a remarkable picture of Our Lady with John the Baptist and Nicholas from the end of the 17th century; in the excerpt, the miraculous so-called “Old Danube Cross” was installed, which was recovered from the Danube during an ice rush in 1693. During the modern redesign of the church by Clemens Holzmeister , the side altars and pulpit were removed and replaced with statues of Saints Michael and Florian.

Remarkable individual pieces are a late Gothic mount of olives with the year 1489, a fragment of the gravestone of the builder Sigmund von Schaunberg († 1498), a Pietà from the 18th century and the so-called "Kripperlboot", a Christmas scene on a Danube boat against the backdrop of Aschach, carved in 1984 by the sculptor Aegidius Gamsjäger .

There is a bell from 1717.
