history

The first written mention of the church comes from the year 1469. At that time it was a branch church of Adriach . Around 1653 it was described as a simple church building. In 1742 it was raised to a vicariate and in 1787 to an independent parish.

description

The four-storey church tower with a pointed helmet and coupled arched sound windows was built onto the western part of the church .

The three-bay nave has set wall pillars. The narrower, one-bay choir with a three-eighths connection, which probably dates from the 15th century, is attached to the nave . Both the choir and the nave are vaulted with groin vaults . A two-bay side chapel, raised by two steps, adjoins the nave. To the east of the side chapel is the sacristy . The wooden gallery is located in the western part of the building . The font comes from the last third of the 18th century.

The high altar was erected between 1710 and 1720. The altar sheet painted by Joseph Adam Ritter von Mölk , like the top picture, dates from 1775. The side altar dates from the first quarter of the 18th century and shows the repentant Peter . On the fron arch there is a baroque cross group as well as portraits of Saints Florian and Johannes Nepomuk . There is also a picture of the apostle painted in 1686 and a picture of the Holy Family painted in the second half of the 17th century in the church. In the window reveals there are frescoes from the 15th century. The glass chandelier dates from the first half of the 19th century.
