Phil Driscoll (born November 9, 1947 in Seattle , Washington ) is an American singer , songwriter , trumpeter and record producer who plays different styles and genres of music including rock and roll , rhythm & blues and Christian music . Driscoll composed songs for Joe Cocker , Leon Russell , Stephen Stills , and Blood, Sweat & Tears, among others .

successes

Phil Driscoll received a Grammy Award in 1985 for the song Keep the Flame Burning , together with Debby Boone, in the category Best Gospel Performance by a Duo or Group . He received the GMA Dove Award for Instrumentalist of the Year in 1984, 1985, 1987 and 1999.

In the White House he appeared for US Presidents Jimmy Carter , Ronald Reagan , George Bush , Bill Clinton and George W. Bush .
