Phil Rawlins

Phil Rawlins (born May 28, 1930 in Glendale , California , † May 28, 2009 in Santa Clarita ) was an American film and television maker.

Life

Rawlins attended North Hollywood High School and then Pierre College , where he built a rodeo team and led it to success; he himself remained loyal to rodeo into old age and took part in around 40 competitions per year.

He also worked as a stuntman for Clint Eastwood in A Thousand Miles of Dust , for Randolph Scott , Robert Ryan and Don Murray, among others . From 1961 he was on the other side of the camera as an assistant director and executive producer , and later occasionally as a director for Warner Brothers . From the mid-1970s onwards, as part of the production team, he increasingly took care of films for the big screen, such as Star Trek: The Film and Gremlins . Rawlins died in Newhall , a neighborhood inSanta Clarita .
