Philipp Achammer (born July 4, 1985 in Brixen ) is an Italian politician in South Tyrol . Since 2014 he has been party chairman of the SVP .

biography

Achammer, from Vintl , graduated from the secondary school in Brixen in 2004 . He then began his law studies at the Leopold Franzens University in Innsbruck , which he did not graduate. His political career began in 2003 as a local youth officer for the young generation in the SVP von Niedervintl, and subsequently became SVP district youth officer for the Brixen district . From 2005 to 2010 he was a member of the local council of his home town Vintl. From 2008 to 2009 he acted as regional youth officer of the South Tyrolean People's Party and from 2009 to 2013 as state secretary (managing director). In the elections in October 2013 , he was the youngest member of the South Tyrolean state parliament with 14,478 preferential votes, and thus also the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . As a result, Achammer was elected to the state government and took over the departments of German education as well as educational support, German culture and integration in the Kompatscher I cabinet . On May 3, 2014, he was elected chairman of the party at the 60th regional assembly of the South Tyrolean People's Party. He received 94.43% of the delegate votes. In 2017 he was confirmed as party chairman with 95.87% of the vote. In the 2018 state elections , he was able to win another mandate with 33,288 preferential votes. After his re-election to the state government, Achammer was given responsibility for German education, German culture, industry, craft, trade and services, work and integration in the Kompatscher II cabinet .
